VIENNA — Austrian emergency groups have rescued a German mountaineer who spent 5 days in a deep glacier crevice after slipping.
Officers say the person was discovered within the 100-foot-deep hole Thursday after he succeeded in making an emergency name from his cellphone following quite a few failed makes an attempt due to poor reception.
State broadcaster ORF cites alpine rescue official Christoph Preimesberger as saying the person is simply “comparatively evenly harm” contemplating the drop, with shoulder and foot accidents. He was flown by helicopter to a close-by hospital after the early morning rescue
The person was reported lacking by his father Saturday on the rugged Dachstein vary southeast of the town of Salzburg. He’s not being recognized resulting from Austrian privateness legal guidelines.
