MEXICO CITY— A 6.Three-magnitude earthquake struck offshore Friday in Mexico’s Gulf of California, however there have been no instant stories of harm.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the Friday morning quake was centered about 48 miles (78 kilometers) north-northeast of Loreto, within the waters between the states of Baja California Sur and Sonora.
The USGS stories that it struck at a depth of 6 miles.
The realm is a desert shoreline dotted with small cities and fishing villages standard with U.S. vacationers who park their leisure autos at seaside campsites.
Yolanda Vallejo, proprietor of Rivera del Mar RV Park in Loreto, mentioned the quake did not even give her a begin.
“We have felt comparable earthquakes,” she mentioned. “No injury. My plates did not even fall over.”
A strong magnitude-Eight.1 earthquake shook southern Mexico again in September that left 32 individuals useless, introduced down buildings and triggered tsunami warnings.
