LONDON — Some British lawmakers are coming ahead to disclaim their involvement as Britain’s two largest political events examine a string of sexual harassment allegations.
Legislator Charlie Elphicke has been suspended from the Conservative Social gathering due to what the occasion calls “severe allegations” which were referred to the police. It didn’t elaborate. Elphicke stated on Twitter that he denies any wrongdoing.
“The occasion tipped off the press earlier than telling me of my suspension. I’m not conscious of what the alleged claims are and deny any wrongdoing,” Elphicke tweeted Friday.
The opposition Labour Social gathering can also be investigating a proper grievance towards legislator Clive Lewis, who’s accused of groping a lady on the latest occasion convention. He denies the cost.
Labour legislator Ivan Lewis, a former Overseas Workplace minister, can also be denying allegations that he acted improperly towards ladies.
Protection Secretary Michael Fallon resigned this week after saying that his conduct had fallen wanting requirements.
