An 81-year-old former Koran instructor who was convicted of a string of kid intercourse offences has been jailed for 13 years.
Mohammed Haji Sadiq taught for 30 years at Cardiff’s Madina mosque and abused 4 ladies as a type of punishment.
He was discovered responsible of eight sexual assaults on a baby beneath 13 by touching, and 6 indecent assaults after a trial at Cardiff Crown Court docket.
The court docket heard Sadiq, of Cyncoed, “took benefit of his place”.
He had denied the costs involving 4 ladies aged between 5 and 11 and blamed “politics” within the mosque for the accusations.
However sentencing him, Choose Stephen Hopkins QC advised Sadiq: “You’re a man in my judgement of some crafty.”
The offences came about between 1996 and 2006 on the Woodville Street mosque.
Sadiq, who has had no involvement within the mosque since 2006 when it burnt down and was re-sited elsewhere within the metropolis, was cleared of 1 indecent assault.
