A whole lot of Falklands veterans have marched via Gosport on the 35th anniversary of the battle.
British troops started touchdown on the islands within the South Atlantic on 21 Might 1982.
The Hampshire city, which is dwelling to the Falklands Veterans Basis, has hosted a nationwide commemoration service and parade each 5 years since 1997.
A civic procession and a service on the city’s Falkland Gardens was adopted by a parade via the Excessive Avenue.
The march previous was led by the Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines Collingwood.
The mayor of Gosport Linda Batty, Deputy Lieutenant of Hampshire Rear Admiral Iain Henderson and First Sea Lord Sir Philip Jones took the salute.
Falklands Veterans Basis chief government Derek “Smokey” Cole, who served on board HMS Intrepid, stated: “Gosport has a really particular place within the hearts of veterans and their households, as a result of a lot of those that served within the battle lived there, and the city’s army services performed a vital position in supporting the Falklands marketing campaign – together with supplying and arming the taskforce.”
